Spending this Sunday with family and experimenting with my new #canon 60mm lens. I'm realizing that it might take a little more practice than I thought, like when I saw the tiny sweater fuzz on the ring in this picture that I had no idea was there with the naked eye. It's pretty unforgiving, and these are my (apparently!) grubby stacking rings I've been wearing every day for months, maybe longer. Merry Christmas all! It is so insanely nice out here (emphasis on insane) that Emmett and I went out on a walk to look for treasures, and this is what we found. Ordinarily on December 25th I would have been able to gather a basket of snow, sticks, and dead leaves. Not complaining. It sure feels weird though.

In the spirit of keeping the holiday ball rolling I have signed on for two trunk shows on the west coast between Christmas and New Year's Eve. That's why I've continued elfing away in the studio making these stacking rings and whatnot even though all of my holiday orders have shipped. One is a private event at someone's home, and the other will be on the afternoon of December 29th in the @tablascreek tasting room in Paso Robles, CA. So if you happen to be in the #centralcoast over the holidays pop on in! Wine and jewelry together, what could be better than that?

I thought this post by @juliabesidethesea was so beautiful and inspiring that I decided making them with my kid would be a lovely first day of Christmas vacation thing to do together. Let's just say that ours did not end up looking this nice, and there is lots of glitter and scraps of paper scattered into every corner of my kitchen, and lots of hastily scribbled on pieces of paper hanging on my tree. But it is still a great idea. Am I the only one out there that feels like these craft projects with kids would sometimes be more fulfilling without the, um, kid? Or is it just because I have a 6 year old boy who can't sit still. Anyway, in my secret life with lots of quiet time for craft projects I fully intend to give it another go. #regram @juliabesidethesea
Here is a process series from yesterday in the studio making a pile of 14k and sterling silver stacking rings. Sometimes I feel a little like a magician or an alchemist for being able to turn raw materials into wearable fine jewelry. And even though there is really no magic involved at all, It is so fun to see it all come together. ⚒🔥💪

Sitting here watching the rain come down it is hard to believe that Christmas is just 3 days away. But it's true, which means that the time for ordering jewelry online for the holidays has passed. But don't worry, I can still get you a gift certificate by email right up until Christmas Eve. So if you get in a bind, or need a little extra something for a stocking, or want to whisper a hint in santa's ear for something for your own stocking, there is still plenty of time for that. 😉

Every holiday season I always get a couple of somewhat frantic last minute order requests, usually by, ahem, husbands or boyfriends. Happy Sunday all! What do you all have planned for your day? After my crazy week I have a full day planned of life administration and little boys. Breakfast at the @1vtcountrygirl Country Girl Diner, more holiday decorating, and then the usual groceries and laundry and little boy scrubbing to get everybody ready for another busy week. Not One, But Two Rebecca Haas Jewelry Events This Week in Middlebury, VT and Natick, MA! 12/10 and 12/12
I have a couple of events this week that I want to let you all know about! Both will provide a casual and personal atmosphere for you to browse and shop through an extensive collection of classic favorites as well an new and one of a kind pieces! And I'll be traveling a bit outside of my usual radius for both of them, first to Northern Vermont, and then to the edge of Boston. I have just recently started selling my work at The Edgewater Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont. I was thrilled when they asked me to be their featured artisan during Middlebury's Stag & Doe night! This great event is this Thursday evening 12/10, and many local businesses will stay open late and offer refreshments and various other enticements to sweeten your holiday shopping experience. (It looks like most places will be plying you with some kind of delicious libation, they'll be playing It's a Wonderful Life in the park, and things like that . . )

I had to make a pair of Horizon Earrings for an order (bottom left) and went off on a bit of a tangent. I'm calling them Geometric Medallion Earrings for now, and I think they turned out pretty darn boss. They aren't listed online yet, but I'll be bringing them with me to my trunk shows this week at @edgewatergalleryvt and @louandgrey Natick.
