Charleston Here We Come!

We are heading to Charleston, SC today for our friends Heather and Reid's wedding.  (These are the same folks that are behind this gorgeous apartment that you may recognize from a post from earlier this spring.)  I am  very much looking forward to getting back to Charleston again.  And we are taking the munchkin this time, and I can't wait to get him onto the beach!  I am hoping to take a whole bunch of pictures, both wedding related and non, so stay tuned for upcoming Charleston posts.  I'm not sure if I will have time to post during our trip, so I apologize in advance for a week of light blogging, to be sure.  But I will leave you with a couple of pics of the various signs (to be handwritten later) that I made for Heather to mark the cake table, gift table etc. at her reception.  The silhouette is of their hound dog Henry, who is greatly beloved by both Heather and Reid.
Have a great week everyone!

Harlow Farmstand

This is Harlow Farm and Farmstand, Westminister, VT.  My parents came home this weekend for the summer so I made a trip to Harlow's to get some super fresh asparagus (they were just putting fresh picked ones in the basket as I shopped) and some local greens and cheeses for a welcome home lunch.  And we'll be making another trip over there very soon for plants for the garden!  Summer is finally here!

Etsy Foraging Friday - House Hunter's Edition

Here is a collection of house themed art and decor.  There is just something so comforting about the little square house with a little peaked roof, with the little doors and windows.  But I think these examples have really taken the motif to the next level.  And their shops are, of course, filled with lots more lovelies.  Here's where to find the corresponding shops for each image:
1. "My Village" by Syko
2. "Floating City" by Sometimes I Swirl
3. "Paper House Mobile" by CreatorB
4. "Folk Miniature Wood Town" by Says The Tree
5. "Shelf City With Church" by The Oak Leaves
6. "Canal Houses" by Laura Amiss

Behind the Scenes at the Craftacular

Here are some photos from my time at the Bust Craftacular this past Saturday in New York City.  It was lots of fun.  I sold some work, met some super nice people, and Cassie (Shop Clementine) and I had a great time sharing our table.  Even though space was a bit limited it was much more fun to share and it made the day speed by.  It was also great to meet the guys behind Necklush and reconnect with Lauren from Local Library, as well as see all my lovely Brooklyn friends in the evenings.  Oh, and that delicious looking cupcake, that is a chicken and waffle cupcake by Robicelli's Bakery.  Yes, it is.
But it is also so great to be home with my boys!  And I came home to one of my pieces making it to the front page of Etsy, which always spurs a welcome flurry of activity.  Here's a peek at the front page with my little deer head silhouette on it curated by Artistico!  Yay!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, and managed to find some sunshine somewhere!  There certainly isn't any here.  Worst spring weather ever.

Etsy Foraging Friday - Critter Edition

Etsy is full of creative makers re-envisioning the wheel, and the plush toy section is no exception.  I love  the amount of personality imbued in all of these little characters.

Here's where to find them:

Rainy Days

It has been raining pretty relentlessly up here, and there's no end in sight.  So we have taken whatever chances we could to get outside during breaks in the weather.  The boys chose to spend the time between showers by tooling around on the mower, which seemed to bring great joy to both tall and small. And we are finally moving from yellow flower season (daffodils and forsythia) to purple flower season with the lilacs and the tulips coming on.  Isn't that tulip an amazing color?

Bust Craftacular NYC This Saturday!

I'm headed down to NYC this weekend for the Bust Craftacular indie craft show in Soho on Saturday.  It is a one day only show, open to the public from 11-8pm, at 82 Mercer St, between Broome and Spring.  There is a really fantastic group of vendors, and I can't wait to do a little shopping myself!  Cassie from Shop Clementine and I are sharing a table, so hopefully I'll be able to leave the table in her hands for a few minutes to look around!  Since our space is so limited I decided to just bring Fiddleheads work with me this weekend, so if you or anyone you know is in need of a baby gift, or a one of a kind collage please come browse!  And if not, please just come say hi anyway!  Here is a sneak peek of some new work I'll be bringing with me to whet your appetite!

Our Bedroom: Before and After

I have been wanting to do a before and after post of our bedroom forever.  There are a few reasons I haven't.  For one, I'm still not sure it is totally finished.  I don't think we have the right rug, and I'm still looking for a small chair to go in the corner, you know, things like that.  The other reason is that it is never clean enough to take pictures.  But yesterday I managed to clean enough of it properly (my side of the room, he he he) to take a few photos.  Believe me, there's a reason you are not getting a 360 degree view!

Before (with Olivia's melon in the middle of everything, as usual)

After

Here are some of the pertinent details.  The paint color is Iron Mountain by Benjamin Moore, a very bold choice by TH.  The prints above the bed were done by my mom when we went to a summer session at Penland together about ten years ago.  The tree triptych photographs are by our friend Katherine Slingluff, and were TH's wedding present to me.  The set of photographs in white frames on the other wall were taken by me on our honeymoon in Maine, and I had the frames custom made from architectural salvage by Architiques as a birthday present for TH. The book shelves are full of old paperbacks, organized by color of course ;), and the bed is from Ikea.  Luckily for us there was a nice floor under all that yucky carpet.  It's not in the best shape, but it is way better than before!

That's it for now!  If we ever get the rest of it finished we'll post it here!

P.S. Bonus points for anyone who can locate the one item that stayed in the room!
