California Part 2

Hi All,
So I'm going to make good on my promise of more California pics, partially due to some clamoring from certain parties on the west coast who shall remain nameless. :)
First of all I would like to mention that traveling with Emmett was nowhere near as hard as we thought it was going to be, even though it was a very long trip (15 hours from end to end).  Mostly it was easy because Emmett was such a star on the plane, he slept the whole time.  See below for evidence.  The picture is blurry, but you get the idea.

He pretty much sacked out in my lap the whole way.  I guess he liked the vibrations and the white noise.  Also it was easy because our family in California had lots of baby gear we could borrow, so we could keep the lugging down to a minimum.  That helped a lot too.
What Emmett didn't like about the trip, we were surprised to discover, was the sunshine.  Pretty much every time we took him outside he screamed.  We're thinking he's going to be an indoor kid.  Good thing TH is planning on teaching him HTML at an early age!
Here's us trying to calm him down when we went out to Tablas Creek for a visit, and to show him the vineyard.

You can see how much he enjoys having the sun on his face!

We did manage to get one or two usable pictures.  Here's one with Grandpa Bob.

I, on the other hand, love the sun.  But we haven't been getting much of it around here recently.  Just lots and lots of snow.  Stay tuned for Vermont Xmas pics up next!

  1. Hey Rebecca!
My son & his wife (then fiance) made a trip out here to the west coast and she, being from the east, remarked about how much brighter the sun seemed here. I never thought about it before, don't know if it's true but maybe Emmett thought the same thing! Stay warm ~ Happy New Year,

  3. Yay! Thanks for the update. And the pictures. I can't blame him -- I want to cry most of the time that I'm in the sun, too!
