The six Collette Necklaces made from the little circles from yesterday's post, assembled and heading for the soldering table. ❄️ Meanwhile, it's snowing here again. If you need me, I'll be reading by the fire. If a foot of snow on March 31st isn't an excuse to knock off work early I don't know what is. If you can't beat it, you might as well enjoy the #hygge of it all.

Something new is in the works!! I just ordered a bunch of copper and brass to make some metal wall hangings!! I'm thinking metal, some wood elements, suede and cotton too. I don't know how they'll turn out, if I'll sell them, or if anyone will even want them. But I am so excited to have a little creative diversion working on something with a different scale and function from jewelry. Trying new things is always such a great way to jumpstart new creativity. I can't wait for the materials to get here, but for now, more sketching!

I just shipped out this special ordered Fine Line Bracelet that a customer remembered seeing at a show in November. Thanks to her memory, I am now remembering to list it on my website. #ittakesavillage Scroll to the left to see a second image of how this piece looks on.

A little behind the scenes look at some of the necklaces on my bench for today, and the tools I will use to finish them up. • Sometimes running one's own business can get overwhelming, and my own to do list can span things from planning for retirement to responding to an email about a custom order to packing and shipping finished pieces. On the days when I feel pulled in a lot of directions I try to reroot in just doing the most basic part of this. The making. (Says the girl currently posting on Instagram.) But seriously. It reminds me of one of the most common pieces of advice I took away from reading the many many inspirational profiles in In the Company of Women: which was "Do the work." • So I'm off to do the work.

I took this new adjustable version of the Olivia Bracelet out on a test drive tonight for drinks with the girls. I always try to personally test out new designs to make sure they work the way they are supposed to. Especially with new clasps or other functional type changes. It's one of the perks of this business. . . 😁 But seriously, the last thing I want is for your new bracelet to fall off your wrist. I do my best in advance to make sure that won't happen. #mycreativebiz #handmade #makersmovement

Fridays are always very busy around here, finishing up projects and sending out orders before the weekend. Here's a peek at a small section of my work table today: pieces of Diviner Earrings for a wholesale order and a Pennant Necklace for a web customer that shipped out today. #wip #homeinthestudio #makersmovement

Had to stop in to @andbeboutique while I was in Paso. Between them and @generalstorepaso a person could happily part with all of her money in a short amount of time. 💙 And if you are in the area you can find my work at AndBe. #rhjstockist #shoppasorobles #centralcoast

A little corner of my new studio featuring a photo of me in my old Brooklyn studio. What that studio lacked in comfort (and windows) it made up for with starving artist charm. • Ps. I'm on the west coast, and I just can't seem to get my instagram Posts out before night time on the west coast. . . • Adorable succulent planter by @taylorceramics • Photo of me from Brooklyn taken by @katherineslingluff

The new reversible Emily Necklace. I'm pretty excited to share this one! It features this floral pattern on one side, and a smooth flat satin finish on the other. Either side can be worn facing out, depending on if your mood is tending towards the boho or the minimal. 🌸

It was a whirlwind of a weekend of good friends and good food. Which is, of course, my favorite kind of weekend. And now I'm feeling ready for a nice quiet day of studio work tomorrow, including finishing this little stack of Emily Bands that is waiting for me on my bench.

I'm having so much fun working in my new studio for the first time today. I can't tell you how great it is to have a space I designed to work for me, and the way I work. It is bright and clean and cheerful. It's the best. I've always been pretty good at making due with whatever work space I could finagle. But after 17 years in business, I truly feel like I have earned this. 💪 And I'm doubly psyched to be passing this milestone on International Women's Day. It's been a long road, with plenty of ups and downs. And I'm not even fully moved in yet. But today is a good day. #workhard #girlboss #internationalwomensday

Monday started off on a bit of a discordant note around here, with toddler tantrums and dog problems. So I'm attempting to reboot the day with a piping hot cup of coffee and these cheerful silver Bit Posts on bright pink paper. Come on Monday, let's turn this ship around.

It's an exciting day here, I'm starting to move into the workshop room of my new studio! This alcove desk will be where the jewelry gets its final assembly once all of the soldering and hammering of each component is finished. I figured I'd better take some pictures quick because once I start actually working in here it will never be this neat again. 🔨🔥🌪 #homeinthestudio #creativespace #inmystudio

A process shot of the steps I follow when making my Black Forest Rings. The top left shows the three component pieces, the top right shows them after they've been soldered, but before polishing and hammering, and the bottom is the finished product. I just shipped out a bunch of these, along with other mountain themed pieces, to @madejacksonhole in Jackson Hole, WY, in case you are in the area!

Ok instaverse, I have another plant question for you please :) 🌱 I just pulled this broken leaf out of the bottom of my succulent pot and it has this little baby attached. What is the right way to pot this little cutie? Specifically, what part goes in the dirt, and what part stays above? And do I keep the two pieces attached to each other? Thanks much! P.s. It's 10 degrees and snowing here today, so I'm going to keep my head down and play with green things indoors.

Good morning Friday, you beautiful day! I'm doing some serious #californiadreaming in the studio today. Shipping orders of jewelry to beautiful places around the country always makes me a little wistful! Here are a couple of the delicate layering pieces that shipped off to @coop28handmade in LA this week, bringing on this current spell of wanderlust.

A Peaks Necklace in 14k gf I'm working on in the studio today. Most of the pendant is finished, but if you look closely you can see that the top of the circle still needs to be soldered closed to keep the chain attached. The pendant will then be hammered to finish the piece. #processoverproduct #workflow #homeinthestudio

Hi! It's been a while since I showed my face around here, because I find selfies to be ugh. But this is me, the person behind all of the jewels I generally post here. Here I am in a corner of the construction site of my future studio, which is just one of the many balls that are in the air over here at Rebecca Haas Jewelry. There's something about the way this pic turned out that I like, so I though it was a good chance to say hey to you all. I snapped it today trying to capture my new kicks, but kind of missed. See? Selfies are hard. But this is me in a typical studio-day get up, which is a mishmosh of comfy clothes. One of the big benefits of working for yourself, by yourself, is you can wear your pjs if you want. But I generally don't. Pj's at 9am is great, but something about still being in your pjs at 6pm when you open a bottle of wine just feels wrong. Am I right? Ok, I'll stop rambling now, and thanks and hi again to those of you who made it all the way to the end! 🤗
